Lipten Awarded Contract for New Airport Energy Center

Wixom, MI - October 15, 2010: Lipten was awarded a contract for a new steam and compressed air central utility plant at Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, MI. This project includes the turn-key design and installation of the utilities systems at the airport. The project also involves a new natural gas service connection with over 1,200 ft of gas main piping to the new utilities plant.
Willow Run Airport currently receives steam and compressed air from the neighboring General Motors (GM) Transmission plant. GM intends to shut down the power plant in April, 2011. This project will provide the steam and compressed air required by the airport.

"This project represents a great opportunity to showcase Lipten's integration capabilities," Michael Hazzard, a Lipten project manager, said. "We look forward to exceeding the expectations of our client, the Airport Authority."
