"The project was handled in a manner that always made you aware of your value as the customer. Jim (Lipten project manager) responded to all inquiries in a prompt and extremely professional manner. You could always sense that he was concerned about doing everything within his power to keep the project moving and the customer happy. John (Lipten site supervisor) did an outstanding job of coordinating the work in the field. He made the necessary contacts to get clarification for any questions that arose in a timely manner and was always in contact with the key players needed to keep the project moving. I’m pleased to be closing out my career with the State of Pennsylvania having had the opportunity to see a project of this magnitude completed without the ever familiar delays that typically occur within the layers of the State Government decision making process."

Lipten Finds the Solution: Two New 120,000 lb/hr Superheated Boilers

WIXOM, Michigan, March 22, 2016 – Morton Salt (Rittman, OH) awarded Lipten and the project team a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction services to install two (2) new 120,000 lb/hr superheated natural gas fired boilers, each with Lipten’s CombustionPac™ boiler control systems. The project also includes installation of supporting instrumentation and ancillary equipment as well as a new Motor Control Center (MCC) and electrical distribution equipment.

Lipten provided several engineered options as the budget was tight and so is the working area for expansion. Lipten, as the leader in boiler coal to natural gas conversions, investigated conversion of the 50+ years old coal boilers to vertical fired natural gas burning. Lipten determined that due to the age and condition of the boilers, new boilers would be a better solution in the long run.

Lipten is working closely with site staff to ensure that the design and installation of the new equipment meets the facility requirements for safety, efficiency, emissions, and ease of maintenance and operability.
