"The project was handled in a manner that always made you aware of your value as the customer. Jim (Lipten project manager) responded to all inquiries in a prompt and extremely professional manner. You could always sense that he was concerned about doing everything within his power to keep the project moving and the customer happy. John (Lipten site supervisor) did an outstanding job of coordinating the work in the field. He made the necessary contacts to get clarification for any questions that arose in a timely manner and was always in contact with the key players needed to keep the project moving. I’m pleased to be closing out my career with the State of Pennsylvania having had the opportunity to see a project of this magnitude completed without the ever familiar delays that typically occur within the layers of the State Government decision making process."

Wixom Company to upgrade power system at DaimlerChrysler Belvidere Plant

WIXOM, MI, - LIPTEN Power of Wixom, Michigan, a powerhouse engineering design/build provider, has been awarded a contract to upgrade the combustion controls and selected instruments on three boilers at DaimlerChrysler's Belvidere, Illinois, assembly plant.

A Tier One supplier to Chrysler for 20-plus years, LIPTEN will provide and install three new combustion control systems and an overall boiler monitoring system on the Union Iron Works boilers, each rated at 75,000 lbs/hr.

The upgraded combustion system will replace outdated equipment and allow for better control and monitoring of boiler functions.

The natural gas fired boilers provide steam to the 3.3 million sq. ft. assembly plant, which turns out almost 600 vehicles per day.

Among other uses, the steam is critical to heating 100,000-plus gallon tanks of primer and other temperature controlled tanks related to the painting process.

The upgrade, scheduled for completion in September of this year, will be done on a one-boiler-per-month schedule so as not to interfere with production.

Directing the project is Jim Marshall, regional operations manager for LIPTEN Power.

LIPTEN Company (www.lipten.com), serves a national clientele for design, installation and servicing of power generation and cogeneration systems. Branch offices are located in the Detroit, New York City and Montreal areas.
